Lawrence Lemuel Hernandez Fortun, [1] also known as Law Fortun, (born August 7, 1971) is a Filipino lawyer and politician who is serving as the vice mayor of Butuan since June 30, 2022. He previously served as a member of the House of Representatives of the Philippines representing Agusan del Norte's 1st congressional district from 2013 to 2022.
Agusan del Norte comprises 10 municipalities and 1 component city. There are 253 barangays (including the independent city of Butuan). The city of Cabadbaran is the officially designated capital of the province per Republic Act 8811. [6] The highly urbanized city of Butuan is geographically within but administratively independent from the province.
The oldest known balangay are the eleven Butuan boats, which have been carbon-dated individually from 689 to 988 CE and were recovered from several sites in Butuan, Agusan del Norte.
