With the WIFI 6e Router from Spectrum as of right now it is only avaiable for GIG customers. If you do not have GIG, you cannot get the 6e router right now (Will later on). In terms of the router, it is very good overall. Can't access the backend admin portal which is a negative but the app has the main functions needed for basic tasks.
Usually, you can go to the local network address for the router (192.168.1.1, 10.0.0.1 or similar) in a browser, and that gives you access to a web interface to control the router. However, the WiFi 6 just shows a page asking you to download the My Spectrum app. The app has very minimal functionality to control the router, and I'd like to ...
A friend of mine recently switched to spectrum and got the new Wifi 6 router. One of these models. Models: SAX1V1R , SAX1V1K , SAX1V1S They can connect there phones and tablets with no issues. But they have a computer that's about 5-10 years old that can't see the network. It sees other wifi networks but does not see the new spectrum network.
In NYC it maxes out around 300mbps. HD video is 5mbps average with 20 or so peaks. 4K video is 20-50 i think. technically you don't need a wifi 6 router but as you upgrade your devices to wifi 6 ones they will be more efficient in the use of wifi and you will get better performance. 2. OzarkBeard.

Some devices that are only 2.4 capable won’t connect to the router because it tries to put them on the 5ghz band. This is the router Spectrum sent me: Spectrum WiFi 6 Router: SAX1V1K. Firmware Version: 2.2.1. Hardware Version: 7.2.

If the router isn't locked down, put 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254 in your browser and you should get the router admin pages. 192.168.100.1 may get you the modem admin, but in my experience it does not work with Spectrum modems. As others have said, ASAP stop using their shitty lowest bidder garbage and get your own. 2.
If you game, Nighthawks a good bet. If you have security cameras, You'll need a pre-wifi 6 router with seperated dual bands. So some of the modems that Spectrum gives out, use the defective Intel Puma Chipset, so you might want to look into that, especially if you are going to do any gaming, etc.
