Lakeside Shopping Center, or simply Lakeside, is a shopping mall located at 3301 Veterans Memorial Boulevard in the New Orleans suburb of Metairie, Louisiana, United States. Grace King was built in the late 1960s as a high school, opening its doors in 1968 as an all-girls public school serving Jefferson Parish; remaining such until the 1980s, when it became co-ed. [ 6 ] The school, which served Grades 9–12, was a part of the Jefferson Parish Public Schools system.
The school was first established in 2004, and is the only non-selective Church of England secondary school in Bromley under the direction of the Diocese of Rochester. [ 2 ] Bishop Justus School was converted to academy status in February 2012, and was previously under the direct control of the London Borough of Bromley .
Haynes Academy for Advanced Studies was established in 1909 by the Jefferson Parish School Board and named Metairie Ridge School. By 1912, the wood-framed, one-room schoolhouse had grown to an enrollment of 54. By 1929, grades 1 through 12 had been established and the school was renamed Metairie High School.
Riverdale High School was established in 1962 as an all-girls, grades 9–12 high school, with a Scottish Lassie as the mascot. The school became coed in 1980 and the mascot changed to the Scottish Rebel. Grades 7–8 were added in 1986, followed by grade 6 in 1988, but the middle and high school programs were split into separate schools in 1994.
Archbishop Chapelle High School was founded in 1962 by the Archdiocese of New Orleans and was named after Archbishop Placide Louis Chapelle, the first Archbishop of New Orleans in the twentieth century.
