The airport was renamed "Ottawa International Airport" in 1964. It became "Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport" in 1993. The remaining component of the mid-century terminal in 2008. In the 2000s, the original terminal was entirely replaced and expanded by more modern facilities. [13]
Macdonald-Cartier handles all of the scheduled passenger service for Ottawa, in addition to a large amount of general aviation and some military traffic. The remaining airports serve almost exclusively general aviation.

Airport (French: Aéroport) is an O-Train rapid transit station. It is located at Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport in the south end of Ottawa. It serves as the southwestern terminus of the three-stop Line 4 which opened on January 6, 2025. [1] [2] The airport is also served by an OC Transpo bus stop.
