Fairlawn is conveniently positioned in Summit County, just west of Akron, Ohio and 35 minutes from downtown Cleveland. Nearby arteries to major expressways are convenient and international and regional airports are minutes away. Our fair city is home to approximately 7,300 residents.

A special election in July of 1971 was held and the Charter form of government was chosen for the now official City of Fairlawn. Plans were also considered for the building of a new city hall to house police, tax offices, city officials' offices and meeting rooms.
