Elstree Studios on Shenley Road, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire is a British film and television production centre operated by Elstree Film Studios Limited. One of several facilities historically referred to as Elstree Studios , the Shenley Road studios originally opened in 1925.
Elstree Studios is a generic term which can refer to several current and demolished British film studios and television studios based in or around the town of Borehamwood and village of Elstree in Hertfordshire, England. Production studios have been located in the area since 1914 when film production began there.

This is a list of films that were shot at the MGM-British Studios, Borehamwood, England, one of several sites collectively known as "Elstree Studios". The studios were built in 1935, [ 1 ] but were not used for filming until they were bought by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) in 1944. [ 2 ]

Elstree Rural District was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972, becoming part of the non-metropolitan district of Hertsmere on 1 April 1974. The council's former offices at 84 Shenley Road were redeveloped shortly afterwards to become a Tesco supermarket, which in turn became a cinema and leisure complex in the late 1990s. [13]
