For those who will ask, our contractor used the Duraseal Weathered Oak Quick Coat Stain (2 coats!), finished with Bona Traffic HD Satin. Deciding on a satin finish vs. a matte finish is definitely contributing to these floors looking like they've always been here–the goal all along.

Definitely use duraseal for your stain. Minwax is garbage. White oak is great no matter what stain color you pick. I’ve stained a bunch of floors the past couple years with all of the duraseal colors and weathered oak was popular, it’s starting to fade out now.
We are having a really hard time thinking through a stain color choice for our 5” white oak floors. We have lots of pets, so trying not to go too dark, but also a little afraid if we go light (like weathered oak stain) we may be getting into a trend that’s on the way out. Any help is greatly...
