The Freedompop plan is a lot better. As opposed to the Textnow phones, the Freedompop phone never misses a call. Missed calls and texts happens all the time to my phones that are on the Textnow network. Ran the Freedompop data all the way down to between 5 and 10 mps in the last couple of days as a test. Still continued to work.

The problem with this method is that there probably isn't a path to the 100/100/100mb plan. It seems that FreedomPop only offers those plans tied to the SIM card numbers sold via Target/Walmart, and since you'd be bypassing activation of the physical SIM, that plan wouldn't be available.

RealText. Question about Walmart Exclusive. $9.98: FreedomPop Sim- Free 300 Minutes, 1000 Texts, 100MB/Month. Excuse the dumb question here because I have not kept up with the latest offerings from FreedomPop. I thought were out of the free cellular service business.

FreedomPop "Walmart" Free Plan (300 min / 1000 texts / 100 MB for $0/month) - Info & Discussion Discussion on the forum of this special FreedomPop plan started with this post in another thread back in November 2021. I decided to create this dedicated thread given that there's obviously enough interest and discussion about this specific product.

  7. R.I.P Free Plans : r/freedompop - Reddit

It's offical...Freedompop will no longer offer free plans. They require manual renewal for all free plans, including the Walmart T-Mobile ones. Supposedly they will still activate the sim cards that may be available at Target, but won't produce any more, since they were really intended to get ACP customers, not free 100,100,100 users. 4.
