Oct 21, 2018. #5. Watch on buying the glass lid. I had a Marineland 37 gallon aquarium crack and replaced it with a Top fin (much better) The rI'm on the top fin is thicker so the Marineland lid is too long. This is the one that should fit. Put a tape measure across the opening and got to Petsmart.

Sep 23, 2018. #2. I actually really love the Top Fin HOB 's. The controllable flow rate is amazing! I use the one rated for up to a 15 gallon for my 5.5 gallon Betta tank. I also cut a coarse sponge out to place in front of the "replaceable" filter pad that Top Fin sells that I literally replace once a year cause after rinsing it out it flows fine.

For an aquarium as large as 125 gallons, it either needs to be thick plate glass or thinner glass that has been tempered for strength. If the glass is tempered, do not try drilling it as it is likely to crack unless you have the proper knowledge and tools.
The Top Fin 125 combo was also on sale, but I liked the deeper more boxy shape of the 120. Both combos had thick glass, black silicone, glass tops & cheap lights. Of course the stands are constructed with particle board. Seems most are nowadays. I thought the stand was a little flimsy, but after tightening it up things were fine.

They have a few good things, but now even those are overpriced since they kinda got some free viral promotion of some of their all-in-one glass kits. Really unfortunate as prior to that they had to discount the kits heavily to move inventory.
