Why does yts.mx deserve to go on the naughty list? Discussion. To my knowledge, YIFY shut down in 2015 and yts took over the yify name unofficially, but they seem to be continuing what yify did perfectly well. Yts/yify movies are normally the first results you get when you search on 1337x.to, which has goat status.
If yes: download from elsewhere. If no: stay the course. They cater mostly to people in third world countries where there are data caps and/or slow connections. Their whole thing is to sacrifice quality for size, so of course they are inferior to proper releases where quality comes first.
Yts.mx is the correct URL. I love how this site has such a large collection of films available (over 35,000) and that there's an API. I managed to download the .torrent files for the best quality version of each film and bulk download them all on my NAS Server. That's over 35,000 movies; mostly 1080p; which occupies roughly 60TB of disc space.

A private company cant see your name attached to this but can give the IP address to your ISP and most likely you will just receive a letter saying "you downloaded xx on x date, please dont do this again." Some might cut you off eventually, most of the time this is about it. With a VPN, all your traffic is routed through someone elses IP address.
It's safe. It's just some people don't like them that much because they aim for a really small file size making the video look compressed when on a large TV. But I'm the plus size they always seem to have a bunch of seeders. shag00.
