Yahoo! Webrings was spun off or sold, i think back to the original owner if I'm not mistaken. Yahoo! also purchased Encompass which made a Yahoo! branded browser. This was sometime back in the late 90s to early 2k. My understanding is that Encompass was used to make Yahoo! Toolbar. But again, need a source to cite.
