When designing an IQ test you convert the raw scores of the sample group into percentiles in order to construct a normal distribution to rank future test takers. The score you receive is in relation to that constructed normal distribution, mean 100, SD15. The test was designed following APA standards.

The most accurate atm, in my opinion, is the WAIS IV. It's a very long test (it takes multiple sessions), and measure different aspects of your IQ. It's not a 30 min matrix test. It has matrix, vocabulary, arithmetic, puzzles, compression, memory, and so on. So it's very complete.
