Coordinates: 41°30′13″N 81°42′44″W. The Cuyahoga River[7] (/ ˌkaɪ.əˈhɒɡə / KY-ə-HOG-ə or / ˌkaɪ.əˈhoʊɡə / KY-ə-HOH-gə) [8][9] is a river located in Northeast Ohio that bisects the City of Cleveland and feeds into Lake Erie.
Cuyahoga River, river in northeastern Ohio, U.S., rising 15 miles (24 km) south of Lake Erie and 35 miles (56 km) east of Cleveland. It flows southwestward to the city of Cuyahoga Falls (where its falls were eliminated by a series of dams) on the northern edge of Akron; there it drops into a large, deep valley and turns sharply northward.
The Cuyahoga River. The Cuyahoga River is the central natural feature of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Twenty-five of its 100 miles run the length of the park from south to north. The river is fed by more than 190 miles of perennial (permanent) and ephemeral (temporary) streams.

The Cuyahoga River AOC covers the lower section Cuyahoga River Watershed, from river mile 46.5, which includes the Gorge Dam, to its mouth at Lake Erie (plus ~10 miles of the shore), consisting of drainage from 14 subwatersheds that are situated in Cuyahoga, Lake, Medina and Summit counties.
The first 25 miles of the Cuyahoga are an Ohio Scenic River. The gentle current makes this an excellent choice for beginners. Map 1 shows the water trail’s uppermost section south of Burton, Ohio. It covers River Mile 88 to 71 and has three access points.
