Can't speak to having a broken tooth removed personally but I just had a whole molar surgically removed last week. The whole process took 20-25 minutes, including the time to get numb. In your case it may go quicker than that since there is less to remove. I was very numb, no sedation.

Welwyn Garden City, UK. Jul 24, 2019. #16. When dentists extract teeth, they never apply pressure or grip the bit that is visible in the mouth or the tooth will just snap. When the jaw is numb, we grip or apply pressure to the bit under the gum. The instruments slide between the tooth and the jaw bone.

Jul 13, 2017. #1. My upper back molar has a giant hole in it due to breakage from decay (I'm missing teeth so the number would be off, but I believe it to be either #15 or 16, probably 16). This tooth had never totally erupted - It had emerged from the gum, but the back was never far outside of the gumline, even before this.

I'm going on Monday (16/01/17) for my second upper left hand molar extracted due to it being broken and decayed. My dentist said there was nothing he could do to help it which is understandable. I'm absolutely terrified, this is my first extraction. Half of my tooth is broken down to the gum line whilst the other half is visible.

Apr 8, 2024. #1. Hi, I have a broken molar that got a root canal treatment last year. Unfortunately, it has to be extracted because it’s broken down the gumline. I went to dentist A last week and he said it’s okay to wait with extraction for a while because it’s not urgent. He also looked at the gum around the molar and said it still ...

Explain to the os that you are nervous and worried and they will be able to help you relax and get the root out. It may not take any longer than any other tooth to get out. Everyone is different and teeth are different, but try not to worry too much. Try and stay calm, I know this is hard to do but it will be okay.

Thank you. This forum has helped soo much. I guess I’m getting more nervous since it’s tomorrow. I’m so scared of having this bottom infected broken molar removed. I keep thinking the worst and I’m scared of recovery as well. Since I said before I smoke and can’t not.

I'm 19 and I'm absolutely terrified of the Dentist. My Mum has had a fear for many years so never took me when I was younger, and I went for the first time in September 2016. In January 2016, half of my second upper molar came out when I ate a chewy treacle toffee in work. However, it hasn't...
