Mercy Field is home to the Central Catholic High School baseball team, and it opened in the spring of 2012. 1982 Central Catholic alumnus, Cleves Delp, donated $2.5 million to build Mercy Field. It was founded as St. Mary High School in 1915, a parochial school attached to St. Mary's Parish. It later moved across the street and became Community Catholic High School.
