First published in 1993, its success has led to twenty-six sequels as of 2021. [1] It was adapted into a film of the same name in 2001, starring Morgan Freeman as Cross.
The music video premiered on MTV2 in mid-October 1998. [3] Like the song's concept and interpolation, the video follows a synopsis loosely based on the early Spider-Man comic series.
