Jacobs Music Center is a performing arts theater in San Diego, California. It opened in 1929 as the Fox Theatre, a Gothic-revival luxury theater. It was conferred to the San Diego Symphony in 1984. The center is also the location of various youth orchestra concerts, including the San Diego Youth Symphony's, and a conservatory.
Landmark Theatre Corporation began as Parallax Theatres and was founded in 1974 by Kim Jorgensen with the opening of the Nuart Theatre in Los Angeles, the Sherman in Sherman Oaks, the Rialto in South Pasadena, and the Ken in San Diego. Digital Gym Cinema opened in April, 2013 after Media Arts Center San Diego relocated from a converted residence in Golden Hill, San Diego, to El Cajon Boulevard. Its purpose and focus was to screen mostly unknown films that were not already available to public audiences. Ethan van Thillo and Phil Lorenzo managed the location.
