Hainan Airlines is an airline headquartered in Haikou, Hainan, China.It is the largest civilian-run and majority state-owned [5] air transport company, making it the fourth-largest airline in terms of fleet size in the People's Republic of China, and the tenth-largest airline in Asia [6] in terms of passengers carried.

Haikou Meilan International Airport (IATA: HAK, ICAO: ZJHK) is an international airport serving Haikou, the capital of South Central China's Hainan province. It is located 25 km (16 mi) southeast of the city center and was opened in 1999, replacing the old Dayingshan Airport located along what is now the city's Guoxing Avenue.
The airport is a major aviation hub for airlines in western China, including China Express Airlines, China Southern Airlines (Chongqing Airlines), Sichuan Airlines, Shandong Airlines, XiamenAir and West Air. Chongqing is a focus city of Air China and Hainan Airlines. Jiangbei Airport has undergone multiple major expansions.
It is a hub for Shenzhen Airlines and Donghai Airlines and for cargo airline SF Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines. The airport also serves as an Asian-Pacific cargo hub for UPS Airlines. [1] The airport underwent major expansions in the 2010s, with a second runway opening in 2011, and a new terminal in 2013.
