One of the oldest radio services in the Eastern Caribbean, [4] RCI was established in 1961 and was one of the country's two stations (along with Radio St. Lucia) during its early years. [3] It was a former division of French-based SOFIRAD [5] and a part of Radio Caraïbes International in Martinique/Guadeloupe. [6]
Radio St. Lucia was a radio station on Saint Lucia, located on the Morne Castries, which operated from 1972 to 2017. [2] [3] For a long period it was the only radio station on the island. Its programming featured a mixture of news, music, and talk. They were once wholly owned and operated by the Government of Saint Lucia but were later privatised.

DMG Radio acquired a licence for a new station in Brisbane in 2004; it chose to sell Hot 91 instead of its 50 per cent interest in 97.3 FM Brisbane, transferring an 85 per cent stake in the station to Rob Gamble–owned Queensland Media Investments in November 2004.
