[1] On April 2, 2017, the USL announced that it would launch a new third division league in 2019, with a minimum of eight clubs and relaxed requirements compared to the second division USL.

The 2023 USL League One season was the fifth season of USL League One. Twelve teams participated in the 2023 season. Each team played ten teams three times and the one remaining team twice for a total of 32 games. Top six teams qualified for the playoffs.
