Greatest Hits Radio Somerset (West Somerset) is an Independent Local Radio station serving Warminster, Westbury / Trowbridge in West Wiltshire / Frome in East Somerset. The station, formerly known as The Breeze (Frome and West Somerset), was folded into Greatest Hits Radio South West, as part of a rebrand, on 1 September 2020.
The Breeze was a network of Independent Local Radio stations broadcasting to Bristol, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Somerset, North Dorset, North Gloucestershire, North Somerset, South Devon, South West Surrey, West Berkshire and West Wiltshire, as well as in East Anglia as Radio Norwich 99.9, The Beach, North Norfolk Radio, Town 102 and Dream 100.
The station originally launched in 1993 as CD 603, broadcasting on the AM frequency left free by BBC Radio Gloucestershire. The station went through a number of name changes in that time including 603AM, BOSS 603 and Cheltenham Radio. [citation needed] After securing an FM licence Cheltenham Radio relaunched on 7 September 1998 as CAT FM.

In Bath and North East Somerset, the original station launched as 107.9 Bath FM from its Bathampton Down transmitter in November 1999 and was a rival station to GWR FM Bath (now Heart).
Following the re-advertisement of the local Bath licence by Ofcom in 2011, it was announced on 24 May 2011 that the licence has been awarded to Celador, who successfully had negotiated a deal to take over the final months of the Total Star Bath licence ahead of the "new" licence, [6] and was relaunched as The Breeze 107.9 on 25 September 2011, [7] the operator of Bristol-based The Breeze 107.2.
