Clarence Alfred Gilyard Jr. [1] (December 24, 1955 – November 23, 2022 [2]) was an American actor.He was best known to television audiences for his roles as private investigator Conrad McMasters on the legal drama series Matlock (1986–95) and Texas Ranger Jimmy Trivette on Walker, Texas Ranger (1993–2001).
James Trivette, commonly known as "Jimmy" or "Go Long Trivette" (during his time in the Dallas Cowboys), is Walker's partner.He grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, and has an older brother named Simon, who appears in the episode "Brothers in Arms".
Gailard Sartain (pilot) and Noble Willingham (seasons 1–7) as retired Texas Ranger Captain C.D. Parker, Walker's buddy and ex-partner who owns a bar-restaurant in Fort Worth, Texas, and is the only one to address Walker by his first name Cordell regularly. He regularly assists Walker and Trivette.
