"Shawty" is a song by American rapper Plies featuring American singer T-Pain. Released in July 2007, it is Plies' lead single from his debut studio album The Real Testament and samples "Fantasy" by Earth, Wind & Fire. The song won an award at the 2007 Ozone Awards for Best Rap/R&B Collaboration.
Plies was born Algernod Lanier Washington in Fort Myers, Florida, and grew up in the East Dunbar area of Fort Myers. [2] While at Fort Myers Senior High School, he played receiver and defensive back in its football team, was crowned Homecoming King, was the valedictorian of his high school class, and was named the "Best Dressed" student of his class.
The Real Testament is the debut studio album by American rapper Plies. It was released on August 7, 2007, by Big Gates Records, Slip-n-Slide Records and Atlantic Records. Upon its release, the album was well received by music critics. On January 31, 2020, Plies released a sequel mixtape, The Real Testament II.
