Chu Lai Air Base was a military airport in Chu Lai, Vietnam, operated by the United States Marine Corps between 1965 and 1970. It was located near Tam Kỳ city, the largest city in Quảng Tín Province. Abandoned after the end of the Vietnam War, it was reopened as Chu Lai Airport in 2005.
As of 2008, Chu Lai Airport is the largest airfield in Vietnam in terms of area, covering 30 km 2. The runway is 3050 m long. [1] To facilitate the travel arrangement to two major towns in the neighborhoods, free shuttle bus services [2] are provided from and to the airport for Tam Kỳ city and Quảng Ngãi city.
