Westland Mall is a demolished 860,000-square-foot (80,000 m 2) shopping center located at the intersection of U.S. Route 40 and Interstate 270 on the west side of Columbus, Ohio. In November 2012, the majority of the mall closed, and the last anchor closed in 2017. A mixed use development is planned, and demolition began around August 2023.
At first, it was anchored only by Cincinnati-based McAlpin's. An H & S Pogue was in business by 1959. The PLAZA was situated on a 34-acre (140,000 m 2) tract, north of downtown Cincinnati. The site is not located inside a physical city limits, but lies within Sycamore Township, Hamilton County, Ohio, in an area commonly known as Kenwood, Ohio.
This is the third Cincinnati-area movie theater to shut down within the last five months − the other two being Cinema 10 Middletown and the Xscape theater at the Northgate Mall in Colerain Township.
