No engineer at Callaway is going to say the Apex CB is more forgiving than the hollow body ‘24 Apex Pro. It’s not. The CB has a smaller head, minimal tech, is more demanding. It is not a close call, especially in long irons. The ‘24 Apex Pro is also noticeably more forgiving than the ‘21 Apex Pro.
The Apex Pro was Callaway’s compact CB for better players, and the X Forged was basically a specialty release every 4-5 years. I was a part time fitter and rep for Callaway for a stretch 2015- pandemic, so i am not trying to hate on Callaway.
7 iron - Apex Pro MMT 95 vs. i230 Recoil ES 780 F4 Carry: 153.0 v. 154.1 Ball Speed: 108.9 v. 109.6 Smash: 136 v. 134 Spin: 5197 v. 5156 Landing: 42.2 v. 41.8 I would say both felt good, with Apex Pro being better. Not to say i230 was bad, it just felt "different" from the other irons I hit that day.
T100 gapping may be easier to deal with, due to slightly weaker lofts, but lie angles are slightly more upright. Apex Pro have stronger lofts, and more offset throughout the set. Stock shaft offerings depends on what makes your boat float. Feel = T100 Forgiveness = A.Pro.
I have both sets...apex pro blended (apex 21 4-7, apex 21 pro 8-A) with steel fiber shafts AND Apex TCB TCB Modus Pro 105. 1. Agree, TCB great feel, soft, precise, accurate...when I got my shafts shortened 1/2 inch and added lead tape...money! 2. Apex and Pro blended: same! 1/2 inch shortened, but no lead tape... Pro's a smidgen longer, maybe...
Just got fitted into a ZX7/5 combo set. Tried apex pro along with TM 770, Titleist T150, new PXG, Mizuno JPX forged. Srixon was clear winner. Distance and accuracy were better and the ball just felt better off the club. I wanted to like the apex, but it just didn’t compare.

Hit the Apex Pro at demo days a week or so ago. High and straight with decent feel. Purchased the ZX7. Less high and straight and more distance per number on the sole at least. I really don't know how lofts compare. Both are great looking irons. The Apex Pro reminded me a lot of the latest P770, which I played for a while and liked.
The Apex Pro 19 has Face Cup technology so most people see higher ball speeds and more distance with them compared to the Apex Pro 16. The Elevate Tour shafts are designed to hit the ball with a higher flight apex so that the ball comes down at a steeper angle of descent, making it easier to stop the ball on the greens.
The new Apex Pro is multi piece, hollow body iron so should be more forgiving. Apex pro has cup face as well so the faces should produce more ball speed. Not sure about new X Forged but past versions have all been a solid 1 piece forged iron, so they felt much softer when struck well, but will be more punishing on mishits.
