Deep River Township is a civil township of Arenac County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,050 at the 2020 census . [ 3 ] The village of Sterling is located within the township.

The town of Deep River's previous town hall was located adjacent to its post office, which was destroyed by fire in 1891. This building was constructed as a replacement in 1893, with town offices on the ground floor, and an auditorium space on the upper floors. It is an unusually large structure for an otherwise relatively rural community. [2]
It begins at I-95/US 1 exit 69, on the west bank of the Connecticut River. It runs northwesterly, parallel to the river for approximately 25 miles (40 km) between Old Saybrook and Route 99 in Cromwell.
