   I've tried all of them. It looks like a Windows 10 update has completely broken MSCOMCTL.OCX on my system and it will no longer load in VB6 IDE. The file registers properly. I've also run the suggested "regtlib msdatsrc.tlb" command (which also succeeds), but any attempt to either load a project that uses MSCOMCTL.OCX fails.

    Yes. Downloading and installing "VisualBasic6-KB896559-v1-ENU.exe" was the very first thing which gave me hope that it would properly install MSCOMCTL.OCX on Window 10, however it did not. When the installer completed, I got the following message: "The VB6.0 Common Controls were successfully updated"
