Wauwatosa (/ ˌ w ɔː w ə ˈ t oʊ s ə / ⓘ WAW-wə-TOH-sə; colloquially Tosa) is a city in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 48,387 at the 2020 census. Wauwatosa is a suburb located immediately west of Milwaukee and is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area.
By the 1931 redistricting, the City of Milwaukee portion of the 4th was reduced to the 13th, 18th and 21st Wards, but the district included the Town of Milwaukee and the village of Shorewood, plus the addition of the villages of Fox Point and River Hills. It continued to elect Oscar Morris until his 1939 death in office.
The City of Wauwatosa approved a conditional use permit in November 2023 for a 200-unit residential building that will be developed by Irgens Partners LLC off of North Mayfair Road.
