Madisonville is a city and the county seat of Madison County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,420 at the 2020 census . [ 4 ] Both the City of Madisonville and the County of Madison were named for U.S. President James Madison , the fourth chief executive.
In 2011, the school district was rated "recognized" by the Texas Education Agency. [5] Thirty-five percent of districts in Texas in 2011 received the same rating. [6] No state accountability ratings will be given to districts in 2012. [7]
The district has three campuses – Leon High (Grades 9-12), Leon Junior High (Grades 7-8), and Leon Elementary (Grades PK-6).
