Retargeting to the emoji block is not very helpful to the reader, as all it tells them is "wow, it's an emoji", while targetting to the "definition" is only one of many interpretations. Straightforward emoji redirects, like the fire example mentioned, should probably be kept, as they indirectly inform the reader of the meaning of the emoji.
