Multi-slit Solar Explorer. The Multi-slit Solar Explorer (MUSE) is a future NASA mission to study the heating of the solar corona and the impact of solar eruptions and flares that are at the foundation of space weather. MUSE will have two instruments, a multi-slit extreme ultraviolet (EUV) spectrograph and an EUV context imager. The satellite ...
Just before the wave exited the Solar System, the blast also hit the International Sun–Earth Explorer. This extremely powerful blast of gamma radiation constituted the strongest wave of extra-solar gamma rays ever detected; it was over 100 times more intense than any known previous extra-solar burst.
At 15:44:06 UT on 7 Mar 2023, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 230307A . [6] at the same time, the Gravitational Wave High-energy Electromagnetic Counterpart All-sky Monitor light curve shows a roughly fast rise and exponential decay (FRED) shape with a possible precursor, with a total duration of ~100 sec. [7] At 2023-03-07T15:44:09Z UT (Solar Orbiter onboard ...
In some sense, the Peavey EVH Wolfgang guitar [8] picked up where the Ernie Ball Music Man EVH model left off [9] with the prototype design being made by Peavey Design Engineer/Luthier Jim DeCola [10] (an amber quilted top model which still didn't have the Wolfgang headstock shape, but rather a Peavey classic one). On the second prototype ...
Solar radio bursts of Types I, II, and III as seen in dynamic spectrum observations from the Learmonth Solar radiospectrograph. The color corresponds to the intensity. The perfectly horizontal features seen at specific frequencies correspond to radio frequency interference from human-generated sources.
The EVH Wolfgang is an electric guitar manufactured by Eddie Van Halen's company, EVH, which is owned by Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. The Wolfgang is named after Van Halen's son Wolfgang Van Halen .
The solar storms of May 2024 (also known as 2024 Mother's Day solar storm [1] or Gannon storm in memory of Jennifer Gannon, [2] a space weather physicist [3]) were a series of powerful solar storms with extreme solar flares and geomagnetic storm components that occurred from 10–13 May 2024 during solar cycle 25.
It was an extremely bright burst that was successfully localized to supernova remnant N49 in the Large Magellanic Cloud. This event is now interpreted as a magnetar giant flare, more related to SGR flares than "true" gamma-ray bursts. It is the first observed SGR megaflare, a specific type of short GRB.
