    If you submit the coins to NGC, their sister company NCS will review the coins for conservation. They charge a small fee based on the value of the coins, but it is well worth it. Afterwards, NGC will certify the coins. PCGS and NGC will not grade harshly cleaned coins.

    A grading Co. is a company that accepts submissions from collectors.     Collecting Nut Borderline Hoarder. ANACS is legitimate and a grader on the conservative side. I have a number of their slabs and I’m satisfied with them.     Here are a couple CAC approved coins which I thought missed the mark. 1861 $20 gold. Compare that one with this 1861 which is graded AU-58. Monroe Commemorative graded MS-67. Compare it with this one graded MS-64, which costs far less. (Grey Sheet numbers, $20,000 for the MS-67, $180 for the MS-64.

    The most "common" Uncirculated grade is MS-63, followed by MS-64 and MS-62, in that order. Prooflikes and Deep Mirror Prooflikes are scarce; in Gem condition they both become rare. The finest examples certified by PCGS are 19 MS-66's, a single MS-66 Prooflike, and a single MS-66 Deep Mirror Prooflike. ===.

    Grading Accuracy: From what I have seen, of the top 3, CGA is the most strict (conservative) and PMG the most liberal (PCGS somewhere in between). Is it to ones advantage to get a PMG liberal grading, then one might get a better price when selling (esp on ebay)? Sometimes 1 grade level (64 to 65) can cause the bid to go up by $1000.
