Sedgefield Country Club is a country club in the eastern United States, located in Greensboro, North Carolina, southwest of the city center.Established in 1926, it is primarily known for its golf course and the PGA Tour event it has held annually since 2008: the Wyndham Championship, formerly the Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic, and the Greater Greensboro Open (GGO).

In 2022, the headquarters was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [2] Southern Real Estate built the first 18-hole golf course and Tudor style inn at Sedgefield Country Club in 1929, intending it to be like Pinehurst Resort. Valley Brook course was designed by Donald Ross, also a designer of Pinehurst.
Founded 87 years ago in 1938 as the Greater Greensboro Open, [1] it was usually played in April or May, until a schedule change in 2003 moved it toward the end of the season. At the age of 52, Sam Snead set PGA Tour records in 1965 for his eighth win at an event and as the oldest winner of a tournament; [ 2 ] both records still stand.
