A hydraulic ram pump, ram pump, or hydram is a cyclic water pump powered by hydropower. It takes in water at one " hydraulic head " (pressure) and flow rate, and outputs water at a higher hydraulic head and lower flow rate.
The pistonless pumps also has some disadvantages, such as: They cannot pump to higher pressure than drive gas (area ratio is 1:1). They cannot use either a staged combustion or expander cycle. A gas generator cycle is also difficult to integrate with the pistonless pump. The generated gas must be chemically compatible with both the propellants.

King George V Reservoir, near Chingford in East London, had four Humphrey pumps installed when the pumping station was first constructed in 1912. [7] [8] [9] Each pump was capable of pumping 40,000,000 gallons of water per day. A fifth, smaller, pump was added later. [2] The pumps were built by Siemens at their facility in Stafford, England. Ram air turbine on a Republic F-105 Thunderchief fighter-bomber. A ram air turbine (RAT) is a small wind turbine that is connected to a hydraulic pump, or electrical generator, installed in an aircraft and used as a power source. The RAT generates power from the airstream by ram pressure due to the speed of the aircraft.
A small, electrically powered pump A large, electrically driven pump for waterworks near the Hengsteysee, Germany. A pump is a device that moves fluids (liquids or gases), or sometimes slurries, [1] by mechanical action, typically converted from electrical energy into hydraulic or pneumatic energy.
