Arthur P. Carpenter (March 30, 1867 – October 22, 1937) was an American attorney and government official from Vermont. A Democrat , among the offices in which he served was United States Marshal for the District of Vermont (1914–1922) and judge of the Brattleboro, Vermont municipal court (1923–1929).
Dorset is a town in Bennington County, Vermont, United States.The population was 2,133 at the 2020 census. [3] Dorset is famous for being the location of Cephas Kent's Inn, where four meetings of the Convention that signed the Dorset Accords led to the independent Vermont Republic and future statehood.

Benjamin Carpenter was a devout Baptist. In addition to serving as a deacon for more than 50 years, he also took to the pulpit on occasion to lead services and preach sermons.
