Jo Daviess County (/ ˈ d eɪ v ɪ s /) is the northwesternmost county in the U.S. state of Illinois. According to the 2020 census, it had a population of 22,035. [1] Its county seat is Galena. [2] Jo Daviess County is part of the Tri-State Area and is located near Dubuque, Iowa and Platteville, Wisconsin.

Rice Township is one of 23 townships in Jo Daviess County, Illinois, United States.As of the 2010 census, its population was 338 and it contained 268 housing units. [2] It was formed as Washington Township from East Galena Township on February 22, 1859; its name changed to Rice Township on June 16, 1859.
