The Little Baldon air crash occurred on 6 July 1965 when a Handley Page Hastings C1A transport aircraft operated by No. 36 Squadron Royal Air Force, registration TG577, crashed into a field in Little Baldon, near Chiselhampton, Oxfordshire, shortly after taking off from RAF Abingdon. [1]
Æthelsige was an Abbot of Abingdon and succeeded Wulfgar in 1016 (Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, version C). Æthelsige lived in the town today called Elswick, known then as "'Edelesuuic," literally "the farm of a man named Æthelsige." Before he died in 1018 he was principal in the treaty between Danes and English to observe the laws of Edgar.
William Douglas Blevins was born in Abingdon, Virginia, on August 3, 1963. [4] [5] He was a college football coach at Emory & Henry College and East Tennessee State University. [2] He was also an assistant coach for the Miami Dolphins for six seasons. [6] Blevins was a World League kicking coordinator from 1995 to 1997. [2]
