Carlingford railway station was a railway station in Sydney, Australia. It opened in 1896 and was the terminus of the Carlingford line, which served the suburb of Carlingford and was served by Sydney Trains T6 Carlingford line services. The Carlingford railway line was closed on 5 January 2020 with the station demolished in May 2020.
The Carlingford railway line is a former heavy rail line in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was opened from Clyde to Subiaco (later renamed Camellia) in January 1885, then by means of the construction of a bridge across the Parramatta River , to Carlingford in April 1896.
Carlingford railway station opened on 1 August 1876, but finally closed on 1 January 1952 [5] when the Dundalk, Newry & Greenore Railway ceased operations. In 1948 the film 'Saints and Sinners' used various locations around Carlingford including a scene at the beginning at the station of a DN&GR train arriving.

The section of the Carlingford line from where the Sandown line diverges to the Parramatta Road level crossing was also set for closure. [11] Removal of the line and tracks began in July 2019. [12] The branch was also considered for being incorporated into Stage 2 of the Parramatta Light Rail network, connecting Camellia and Olympic Park. [1]

The area is serviced by Busways bus route 545 [3]. Telopea railway station was on the Carlingford railway line of the Sydney Trains network. The conversion of the Camellia to Carlingford section of the Carlingford railway line to light rail was announced in 2015 as part of the Parramatta Light Rail project and the station closed 5 January 2020.
