Moose River Mountain is a 2,208-foot-tall (673 m) mountain in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. It is located west of Old Forge in the town of Webb in Herkimer County. In 1919, a 60-foot-tall (18 m) steel fire lookout tower was built on the mountain. The tower ceased fire lookout operations at the end of the 1970, and was later removed in 1977.
The Adirondacks do not form a connected range, but are an eroded dome consisting of over one hundred summits, ranging from under 1,200 feet (366 m) to over 5,000 feet (1,524 m) in altitude. The highest of the Adirondack mountains are listed in the Adirondack High Peaks .

The Moose River is a mountain waterway in Upstate New York which consists of three branches: the North Branch, the Middle Branch and the South Branch. The outlet of Big Moose Lake forms the North Branch in northern Herkimer County. The Middle Branch originates at the Fulton Chain Lakes in Old Forge.
Big Moose Lake, at the head of the Moose River, is a large lake about five miles (8 km) north of Fourth Lake in the Adirondacks in upstate New York. The lake is within both Herkimer and Hamilton counties, [1] and covers portions of the towns of Webb and Long Lake. Located southwest of the lake is the hamlet of Big Moose. [2]
