Bear Creek is an approximately 1 mile long creek in Contra Costa County, California. [1] It is the largest tributary to San Pablo Creek . [ 2 ] [ 3 ] Its name comes from a 1,000 pound California grizzly bear killed on the stream by Ramon Briones in 1897.
