Ebenezer Baptist Chapel is a Reformed Baptist and Evangelical church, located at the southern end of Broad Street at Chapel Hill, overlooking the western arm of Manor Road in Newquay, Cornwall. The Newquay Parish church of St Michael the Archangel, (also known as St Michael's Church) is located in Newquay, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, and is dedicated to the St. Michael the Archangel. [1] Since 1951 the church has been designated as a Grade II* listed building. [2]
As the church was in debt, the bishop refused to consecrate it and it took 20 years for the congregation to clear the debt and endow the living. Finally the parish raised £1,100, to which the church commissioners added £1,000, which was invested to provide a stipend for the vicar of £66 15s 4d per annum (equivalent to £8,290 in 2023).

The church is probably built n the site of the 7th century oratory of St Winnoc. A stone church was built in the 12th century, probably cruciform in plan, and there are traces of the Norman stonework on the north side. The transept arch was reconstructed in the 13th century.
A granite cross at the eastern end of the churchyard marks the grave of Sir William Lewis Salusbury-Trelawny, 8th Baronet, of Harewood Estate, one of Salusbury-Trelawny baronets, who was Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall and M.P. for East Cornwall.
