The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, also known as the Saint Louis Cathedral, is a Catholic cathedral in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Completed in 1914, it is the mother church of the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the seat of Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski.
St. Liborius was established as a German national parish in 1856. [2] The church building is a large Gothic Revival structure covered in red brick. It was designed by New York City architect William Shickel. [3] At one time the central bell tower featured a stone tracery spire. It was removed in the 1960s. [4] The church was completed in 1889.

The historic main church was designed in the neo-Gothic style. Its stained glass windows were crafted by the St. Louis glazier Emil Frei, Sr.
