Kel-Tec CNC Industries Inc., commonly referred to as KelTec, [1] is an American developer and manufacturer of firearms. Founded by George Kellgren in 1991 and based in Cocoa, Florida , the company has manufactured firearms since 1995, starting with semi-automatic pistols [ 2 ] and expanding to rifles and then shotguns.
George Kellgren (born May 23, 1943) is a Swedish-born firearms designer, inventor and founder of the gun manufacturer Kel-Tec.His designs include the Intratec TEC-9, Kel-Tec P-11, Kel-Tec KSG, Kel-Tec SUB-2000 carbine and Grendel P10.380 ACP pocket pistol.
In December 2020, an image of a magazine cover showcasing the P50 was leaked on KTOG, an online forum dedicated to Kel-Tec. The image advertised the pistol's ability to feed from 50 round 5.7×28mm magazines, and it is described as the "most unique Kel-Tec yet."
The contract also included the delivery of 30 sets of conversion kits for .375 CheyTac and .50 BMG cartridges (including barrel, bolt, and magazines), along with scopes, 120 replacement barrels (737 mm/29.0 in long), 21,000 cartridges, and additional accessories such as bipods, mounts, and cases.
Kel-Tec has suspended production of these pistols and conversion kits. In 2006, Kel-Tec introduced a single-stack pistol based on the P-11 with engineering improvements borrowed from the P-3AT . The resulting PF-9 pistol weighs about the same loaded as the P-11 empty and is somewhat slimmer.
