In Greek mythology, Andromeda (/ æ n ˈ d r ɒ m ɪ d ə /; Ancient Greek: Ἀνδρομέδα, romanized: Androméda or Ἀνδρομέδη, Andromédē) is the daughter of Cepheus, the king of Aethiopia, and his wife, Cassiopeia.
Cepheus and Cassiopeia allow Perseus to become Andromeda's husband after he uses Medusa's head to turn Phineus and his men to stone for plotting against him. [7] According to Hyginus, the betrothed of Andromeda is named Agenor. [8] After spending a year or so at the court of his father-in-law, Perseus finally sets off for Seriphos with his wife.
Accordingly, Andromeda was chained to a rock at the sea's edge and left to be killed by the sea monster. Perseus arrived and instead killed Cetus, saved Andromeda and married her. [5] Poseidon thought Cassiopeia should not escape punishment, so he placed her in the heavens chained to a throne in a position that referenced Andromeda's ordeal.
One grouping involves the myth of Perseus and Andromeda, both them and Andromeda's parents all appearing next to each other in the sky, which is today's nomination. Interestingly, an inability to properly put clothes on one's upper body runs in Andromeda's family. Articles in which this image appears
