It is located near the northeast corner of the town of Hampstead, at the intersection of New Hampshire Route 111 and Route 121A. Route 111 connects Salem to the southwest with Kingston to the northeast, while Route 121A is a local road which connects with Sandown to the northwest and Plaistow to the southeast.
NH 121A crosses the northeastern corner of town through the village of East Hampstead, connecting Danville in the north and Plaistow in the south. It is known locally as Sandown Road and East Main Street. The nearest airport is Manchester–Boston Regional Airport along the border of Londonderry and Manchester.
The eastern border of the CDP follows a power line that runs east of Great Cove Drive and Meadow Drive, then follows Wade Farm Road to the Durham town line. [ 3 ] New Hampshire Route 108 passes through the center of the village, leading north 4 miles (6 km) to Durham and the University of New Hampshire , and south 8 miles (13 km) to Exeter .

[3] The town is crossed by New Hampshire Route 108 and is the eastern terminus of New Hampshire Route 152.
Charlestown Town Hall is the seat of municipal government of Charlestown, New Hampshire. It is located just off Main Street ( New Hampshire Route 12 ) at 29 Summer Street. It was built in 1872-73, and is a design of Edward Dow , one of New Hampshire's leading architects of the period.
