Armagh is one of the seven district electoral areas (DEA) in Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Northern Ireland. [1] The district elects six members to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council and contains the wards of Blackwatertown, Cathedral, Demesne, Keady, Navan and The Mall. [ 2 ]
It replaced Armagh City and District Council, Banbridge District Council and Craigavon Borough Council. The first elections to the authority were on 22 May 2014 and it acted as a shadow authority, before the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon district was created on 1 April 2015.
Armagh forms part of the Newry and Armagh constituencies for the Northern Ireland Assembly and UK Parliament. It was created for the 1985 local elections , replacing Armagh Area B which had existed since 1973, where it contained six wards (Hamiltonsbawn, Killeen, Laurelvale, Markethill, Poyntz Pass and Tandragee).

Elections to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, part of the Northern Ireland local elections on 2 May 2019, returned 41 members to the council using Single Transferable Vote. The Democratic Unionist Party were the largest party in both first-preference votes and seats.
