Initial D (Japanese: 頭文字 （ イニシャル ） D, Hepburn: Inisharu Dī) is a Japanese street racing manga series written and illustrated by Shuichi Shigeno.It was serialized in Kodansha's seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Magazine from 1995 to 2013, with the chapters collected into 48 tankōbon volumes.

The series takes place in 202X, where self-driving electric cars have replaced internal combustion ones. However, in Japan, there is a large organization called MFG, founded by Ryosuke Takahashi (from the Initial D series), who does street racing with internal combustion cars.
In Initial D First Stage (Anime), the protagonist Takumi Fujiwara used this Scandinavian Flick to corner after overspeed a turn during an impromptu race.
