It was released through Geffen and Interscope Records on March 27, 2024, as the lead single from Cabello's fourth studio album C,XOXO. [2] A hyperpop, avant-pop and electropop song, "I Luv It" samples the chorus of Gucci Mane's 2009 song "Lemonade" into its own chorus.
While performing at Rock in Rio Lisbon 2024, Cabello previewed a bunch of songs from her album C,XOXO, including the track "June Gloom". Right before previewing the song, Cabello began to explain about the song's meaning, saying it was about reconnecting with an ex, which many people speculated to be Mendes.
