In Burnsville, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis, a woman called 911 at 1:50 a.m. local time on Sunday, February 18, 2024, to report an alleged sexual assault by her husband and to request a police presence at her house. The caller provided her address, but the call cut off shortly after.
It ended with two police officers, a firefighter and the suspect dead, a third officer wounded, and a mostly affluent suburb of Minneapolis badly shaken and waiting for answers.
The film was inspired by real events. Franck, a firefighter since the age of eighteen, is happy in his job and lives in his barracks with his companion. One day, while he is responding to an emergency, he sacrifices himself for his men and wakes up in a hospital burn victims unit. The film follows his journey trying to get his life back to normal.
